New York Yeshiva Bochur Buys Bottle Of Wine From Maran HaRav Shteinman ZATZAL
As YWN reported Sunday, a bottle of wine remaining from Maran HaGaon HaRav Aaron Yehuda Leib Shteinman ZT”L was up for auction by the King David auction house on Monday.
It is described to be wine that Maran prepared himself, and distributed on Purim 5750.
Daniel, who learns in Yeshiva Yeshivat Tiferet Torah of Monsey, placed the winning bid of $600 for the unique item.That bottle of wine was purchased by Daniel Samimi, a Yeshiva Bochur from Great Neck, New York.
Interestingly, Daniel only learned about the auction when he saw the YWN story on Sunday night.
Daniel tells YWN, he immediately decided to bid on the bottle he considers ‘priceless’ and a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity to own an item from the late Gadol Hador. “This is what money is meant to be used for,” he said.
Daniel added that he will be saving the wine (at least for now!

PESACH IS COMING AND THE PRICES IN THE SHOPS FOR BASIC FOOD IS VERY EXPENSIVE.
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE RABBONIM AND THE DO GOODERS IN OUR COMMUNITY, HOW DO THEY THINK THAT A NORMAL PERSON CAN AFFORD THESE PRICES.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WE MAKE YOUNGSTERS IN TO CROOKS THEY BORROW MONEY AND DO NOT PAY BACK, OR THEY DECIDED NOT TO BE SO FRUM, SO WE GET LOTS OF DROP OUTS FROM YIDDISHKEIT.
I THINK THE RABBONIM AND ASKONIM IN OUR COMMUNITY ARE OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE REALTYS WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE COMMUNITY.

Swiss Court Sends Neo-Nazi To Prison For Two Years After Assaulting A Chareidi Man
A neo-Nazi who attacked a chareidi Jew in Zurich, Switzerland, was sentenced to two years in prison. The incident took place on the main street of Widikon in the Jewish quarter of Zurich on July 4th.
According to the JTA report, the attacker was part of a group of about 20 men who saluted with the ‘Heil’ and yelled anti-Semitic slogans, when the chareidi man passed as he returned from shul on Shabbos morning.
Some of the group members spat at him and one of them pushed him and knocked him down before the police came and intervened. The victim is in his 40s. The attacker, whose name is not mentioned in the report, was also fined $1,000 and compelled to pay the victim $3,100.
