Spelling and intelligence are not related. The frum schools don't children how to read and write properly as there is less time due to kodesh and the private ones don't have qualified teachers. Also, there are conditions such as dyslexia which are an obstacle to people learning and not to do with cognitive ability.
As for bad language, I often swear myself as I have a lot of stress in my life and surrounded by some moronic people as well. I don't think it's good to do but it releases stress and as I said before it's better than people who do other aveiras such as stealing, etc.
