IN LIFE IT IS HARD TO BE HONEST WITH MYSELF ADMITING THE PAIN I HAVE WITH WANTING TO LOVE HASHEM AND FEEL NEARER TO HASHEM
KNOWING THAT EVERY THING HASHEM DOES IS FOR YOUR GOOD
WE ARE GETTING TO ראש השנה AND I FEEL SCARED THAT I CAN NOT PRAY PROPERLY
AS THE FUTURE IS ANY WAY WHAT HASHEM WANTS AND DOSE
WHAT VALUE HAVE MY PRAYERS GOT
I TRY TO MOVE AWAY FROM THESE THOUGHTS IN MY MIND BUT THEY KEEP COMING BACK AND DISTURB MY CONECTION TO HASHEM

Praying to Hashem in order to obtain more belief in Him is certainly worthwhile,but to pray that you will understand His ways,i'me afraid will not help you much.Moishe Rabbeinu also asked Hashem "hoidieini noh es drochechoh" and even to as great a person as him it was not granted...but maybe you can try...."es kost nisht kain gelt" so why not?.....As far as saying whats the point of praying when everything is already decided by Hashem,or something like that you state in the beginning of your blog......sure everything is pre-ordained,but "Hashem misaveh litfiloson shel tzadikim",He wants our tefilos,and if recited sincerely one can often have a gzar din torn up.There are times,though,when Hashem says no,just like any father to His child,but we musn't give up,never!.....May all your tefilos be answered letoivoh,Reb Gaby.

I have been trying to make sense of you, Gaby, and your whacky sense of humour. But i think when you speak of your wife you do it genuinely. In the youtube clips of the cruise you tease her, and she teases you back which is very brave for a heimishe lady to do, while being recorded. But now we know that the two of you really were very devoted to each other. Life is strange that way. The jokers are really serious, those who put on a show of extreme seriousness are cynical underneath the veneer.
Who knew the deep pain in your childhood and the way your stepmother and later your wife restored some happiness.....
